An important service that is offered to
parents is one of advocacy. SANDS can advocate on behalf of
individual parents if they have an issue they require support
or assistance with. SANDS will also advocate on behalf of
all bereaved parents if a relevant issue arises.
Issues that SANDS has advocated on behalf of
parents –
- Centrelink recognition of stillborn babies
- Registration of babies born after 20
weeks
- Location of burial of a baby
