Mission Statement
SANDS (Qld) Inc. provides mutual support, information, education and advocacy for parents and their families who experience the death of their baby to miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death and other reproductive losses.
Newsletter
The SANDS (Qld) Inc. Newsletter is published monthly. It is edited by a bereaved volunteer parent and produced by volunteers. Parents are welcome to submit articles, stories, poems and memorials, birth notices, book reviews, website reviews.
Grief can be very isolating and many parents find that the newsletter is a welcome link to other parents and to the SANDS office. It is a source of support and a forum for expressing feelings that non- bereaved parents may have difficulty understanding. Many parents find comfort in being able to write about their baby and to see their baby's name in print.
There are a number of different ways of submitting articles for the newsletter:

To have an article printed in a newsletter it will need to be at the SANDS office by the 15th of the month prior to the edition you wish to have the article published in. We require that by submitting poems and stories for publication in the newsletter, bereaved parents are providing permission for these poems and stories to be used in future issues of the SANDS monthly newsletter. We ask that parents do not submit items that they do not want used again in future issues. This does not include Memorials, which are never reprinted.
